Spruce Point Assisted Living in Florence, Oregon is the primary host organization bringing ‘The Wall That Heals’ to Florence in April of 2019 for its only appearance in the state of Oregon for this year. The Florence VFW Post 3232 is very proud to be a Gold Contributor, providing resources and volunteers to assist in showing this memorial. “The Wall That Heals”, a program of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, founders of the Wall in Washington DC, is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC. In addition to the 375 foot Wall engraved with over 58,000 names, a Mobile Education Center displays the legacy of The Wall and educates about the impact of the Vietnam War.
“The Wall That Heals” will be open to the public for display 24 hours each day beginning Thursday, April 4th, until mid-afternoon on Sunday April 7th, on the grounds of the Siuslaw Middle School. Its arrival in Florence will take place mid-afternoon on Tuesday April 2nd, and it will arrive on Hwy 101 from the South, with an escort including multiple Veteran motorcycle groups and emergency vehicles.

“The Wall That Heals” arrives in Florence on April 2nd at approximately 5:30pm .
“The Wall That Heals” will be assembled on Wednesday, April 3rd. in the field in back of the Siuslaw Middle School
Volunteer training will be held at the site on Wednesday April 6th at 6pm.
“The Wall That Heals” will be open for free public viewing 24 hrs / day until closing ceremonies on April 7th at 2:30pm. Docents and volunteers will be available 24 hrs / day to assist.
A memorial ceremony for missing and fallen Vietnam Veterans, Purple heart recipients and Blue and Gold families at 1pm Saturday April 6th
Closing ceremonies will be held at 2:30pm on Thursday April 7th.
The meeting is preceded by Vet’s Café at 4:30 which provides a light dinner for a nominal price.
